Hi, I'm Eric Luellen, a biotechnology innovator and social entrepreneur!
Eric Luellen's Bio:
Eric Luellen is an award-winning innovator at the confluence of data science, AI/ML, and healthcare with over 15 years’ industry experience developing high-return complex software solutions with big data and growing technology innovation start-ups. In 2017, he completed his Master of Science thesis at Northwestern University devising new methods to predict health from ensemble machine learning analyses of genomics across species, data modalities, and time scales. He also completed 36 credit hours at Harvard studying genomics, neurobiology, virology & immunology, infectious disease, and epidemiology. An articulate, high-energy, positive, skilled communicator and builder of world-class technology teams with cross-cultural experience in 34 countries. Mr. Luellen was a finalist for three global honors in health-informatics innovation in the last two years.
Mr. Luellen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts, concentrating in economics, at American University, and completed a fellowship in e-commerce at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He earned diplomas in business, finance, or negotiations at: Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiations (5), MIT's Sloan School of Business (3), Columbia School of Business (1), Caltech's Industrial Relation Program (1), and a separate management program at the Wharton School. In September 2016, Rx&You, the software platform that Eric Luellen designed and co-developed, was nominated as a global finalist for the C3 Prize at Stanford MedX as one of the most likely innovations to change cancer care, one of five finalists from 118 nominees in 35 countries. In December 2016, it was selected as a global finalist for the 2016 World Technology Award in health and medicine, one of six from over 1,000 nominees. In 2017, Mr. Luellen and Bioinformatix' Rx&You was the only American company selected for Startupbootcamp China in digital health.
Mr. Luellen is an Eagle Scout (1985) and black belt in Isshinryu karate. He is also an Advanced Open Water Diver by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).
Eric Luellen's Experience:
Senior Adviser at Georgetown StrategiesJanuary 2014 - February 2017 | Boston
Led technology strategy, and served as interim Chief Technology Officer, for $10 million international software company using healthcare analytics and data informatics for chronic disease and cancer patients of global pharmaceutical customers Trained staff on translating user needs into actionable requirements for software engineering Led development of novel analytics approaches and wrote proposal for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in probabilistic modeling
Principal at Bioinformatix LLCApril 2016 - Present | Boston, Massachusetts
Bioinformatix applied artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics, and complex event processing (CEP) to medication non-adherence, pharmacovigilance, and care coordination by designing and developing a Cloud-based enterprise and predictive intelligence platform for medications accessible via any Internet-enabled device (e.g., Smartphone, iPads, etc.) for patients, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and national health services using complex event processing (CEP). Wherever real-time insights into patient behavior has the greatest value, AI-OI delivers that information to the people who need to know, when they need to know it, to modify the patients’ behaviors and maximize public health surveillance and monitoring.
